PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The goal for this project was to take a preexisting album and redesign a LP Vinyl, Record, CD, and Jewel Case that would appropriately communicate the main theme/message of the album. Below is my design process that lead me to my final composition
SELECTED ALBUM
When selecting an album, the first artist I thought of was Dolly Parton. Dolly has been my favorite country singer for many years, and everything she embodies reflects the kind of person I aspire to be. The one I decided to redesign was her album, Blue Smoke, which was released in 2014.

TYPEFACE EXPLORATION
Dolly Parton has always incorporated her scripted style type into her albums, so when browsing a variety of typefaces, I knew the album had to have a scripted, sans serif style. This would also make the album feel more personable and add to the overarching theme of peace, comfort, and hope.

LP REFINEMENTS
The refinement points that were made included the placement of the Blue Smoke album title, Dolly Parton's name, and the color of the text to give a stronger contrast and more visual interest. Rather than just black and white, I changed the Blue Smoke text to a lighter blue to symbolize the soft smoke of the Great Smoky Mountains.
FINAL LP PHOTO (UNEDITED vs EDITED)
Below shows a side by side comparison of the original photograph that I took as well as the final edited LP cover. The majority of my editing was within Adobe Lightroom Classic, with some smaller highlight and shadow enhancements in PhotoShop.

CD PHOTO CONTENT
The CD design will stick with the same cohesion as the LP Design and also communicate that same message of peace, hope, and comfort of a bright future ahead. Editing the photos with the same warm tone.
